Set an example - Not a bad one

It was a day to relax since it was a holiday. My mom and me had loads of plans for the day, which included a doctor visit and shopping. I was actually excited about the second part though. I had plans of booking a cab from my home. But you know, like all mothers, my mom didn't want to waste money and urged to go by bus. After a string of arguments, she won. Hence, I had to abide by it and we started walking towards the bus stop. It was an extremely hot day and after few minutes of waiting, I could feel beads of sweat trickling down my back.

We could see a bus coming and hoped that it would be the bus which we were waiting for. But as the bus approached us, we realized that God had other plans. As it came to a halt, we and others waiting at the bus stop were covered with a humongous cloud of dust. I tried to cover my face with my veil and later realized its worthlessness. As the conductor blew the whistle for the bus to start, the sequence of events repeated. I was brimming with anger. As I turned to face my mom, she knew that I was furious and asked me to calm down. After 30 minutes, our hope of seeing our bus started diminishing. I started arguing with my mom that we could have taken a cab instead of waiting for such a long time. She started feeling guilty about the decision she took and asked me to see if a cab was available. I told her that I wouldn't come by cab after such a long wait (EGO !!).

With so much frustration inside me, I planned to continue my waiting spree. At that moment, came the final test of my patience. A man on his bike came with such a speed that he almost hit my mother. Let me tell you, she was standing on the platform! I guess the man just lost his mind or he thought that he could use the platform too. With fuming rage, I shouted at him. Mind me, I didn't use any foul language though. The most irritating part was that he stared at us as if we had stood in the middle-of-the-road. Let me tell you the most surprising thing. A traffic policeman was standing on the platform with his bike parked on it. He seemed unnoticed about the happening.

Any public servant is an example to the people.Such behavior clearly shows the lack of awareness of how they could affect the thinking of the public especially the younger lots. The policeman's attitude set two bad examples - one for the biker and the other for me.

He asked for her hand on a beautiful day, And she said yes since she felt the same way, Already being close friends, They became unbreakable as lovers. Their meeting was the work of destiny, On to bountiful years of journey, Each day passed without his company, With his voice soothing her like a symphony. Each second seemed like a year, Losing him was her biggest fear, She wanted to relive each memory of theirs, She came to realize how love was such a magical force. They were on either sides of the world, With so many dreams on hold. Even though they were miles apart, They were invincibly connected by heart. Her eyes were longing to see him smile, Her hands longed to feel his touch at least for a while, Her lips wanted a pair to rest on, And she yearned for his shoulder to lean on. They took a step into a new life, And he said with pride, she was his wife. From then on, his family became hers, New relationships bloomed like flowers. She caressed hi...

Give and Let Give

Do we really need to have something in abundance to kindle the thought of giving? Is the joy of giving proportional to its value? Does the thought of sharing cross our minds when we possess something which might be a dream for others? Why is it so difficult to give away things which we know can easily be afforded by us? Are we selfish, frugal or evil? Isn't being empathetic a vital part of us? Don't you feel anything doesn't serve its purpose at the right time is equal to being non-existent? Isn't it a blessing to look at someone smile and know that you are one of the reasons for it? Finding solace in others' happiness is the most valuable gift one can give themselves. Hope you now know what to do when you want to treat yourself.
