Caste Away

Confused since I'm born, we all look the same
Breathe the same air, the food we eat is same

Then why differentiate and cause such chaos
At our own hands, we're nailed to the cross

I dream of an India where each kid is born free
Free from the shackles snapped by such decree

The day we get united, The day we stop fighting
That golden day we'll see the dawn of India Shining

The trigger to start writing a post on such a sensitive topic came from a series of incidents that I have witnessed over a long period of time. Each time I come across any incident related to caste based discrimination, I just wonder if God has spent so much time in marking a difference in all of his creations. For Him, every living being on Earth is the same. When the Almighty himself sees his creations as one, why have we divided them into thousands of groups?? Each time I witness any such incident, the sense of anger in me grows by hundred folds. And here I am, to vent out all my anger.

Going to back to our history, there are two aspects that are solely responsible for the division among people in India. One is the occupation they do and the other is the color of their skin. The occupations range from temple priests to scavengers.

To be continued....

S(HE)

He asked for her hand on a beautiful day, And she said yes since she felt the same way, Already being close friends, They became unbreakable as lovers. Their meeting was the work of destiny, On to bountiful years of journey, Each day passed without his company, With his voice soothing her like a symphony. Each second seemed like a year, Losing him was her biggest fear, She wanted to relive each memory of theirs, She came to realize how love was such a magical force. They were on either sides of the world, With so many dreams on hold. Even though they were miles apart, They were invincibly connected by heart. Her eyes were longing to see him smile, Her hands longed to feel his touch at least for a while, Her lips wanted a pair to rest on, And she yearned for his shoulder to lean on. They took a step into a new life, And he said with pride, she was his wife. From then on, his family became hers, New relationships bloomed like flowers. She caressed hi...

Give and Let Give

Do we really need to have something in abundance to kindle the thought of giving? Is the joy of giving proportional to its value? Does the thought of sharing cross our minds when we possess something which might be a dream for others? Why is it so difficult to give away things which we know can easily be afforded by us? Are we selfish, frugal or evil? Isn't being empathetic a vital part of us? Don't you feel anything doesn't serve its purpose at the right time is equal to being non-existent? Isn't it a blessing to look at someone smile and know that you are one of the reasons for it? Finding solace in others' happiness is the most valuable gift one can give themselves. Hope you now know what to do when you want to treat yourself.

Set an example - Not a bad one

It was a day to relax since it was a holiday. My mom and me had loads of plans for the day, which included a doctor visit and shopping. I was actually excited about the second part though. I had plans of booking a cab from my home. But you know, like all mothers, my mom didn't want to waste money and urged to go by bus. After a string of arguments, she won. Hence, I had to abide by it and we started walking towards the bus stop. It was an extremely hot day and after few minutes of waiting, I could feel beads of sweat trickling down my back. We could see a bus coming and hoped that it would be the bus which we were waiting for. But as the bus approached us, we realized that God had other plans. As it came to a halt, we and others waiting at the bus stop were covered with a humongous cloud of dust. I tried to cover my face with my veil and later realized its worthlessness. As the conductor blew the whistle for the bus to start, the sequence of events repeated. I was brimming with...
